Carry On My Wayward Son
There is really nothing better than super scary monsters, a super nice car, and super hot guys. All that perfectly sums up Supernatural, the CW's longest running scripted television series. This hit show about evil-hunting brothers has been hot and running since 2005. That's 13 years strong and even though some of the ideas are bit convoluted I still love it. I discovered this show because of a now ex boyfriend. He was obsessed so I decided to watch all the episodes from season 1 with him. That was about 5 or 6 years ago. Thank goodness for netflix because without that I never would've been able to catch up.
Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) and Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) are certainly easy on the eyes. But it is not only their good looks, but also their charismatic personalities on and off screen. They have a cult following, and they are kind enough to play along with their fans. Every comic con or conference they go to, they do meet and greets and have fun with the people who love their show.
If you thought that supernatural means ghosts, witches and werewolves, you would be greatly mistaken. The Winchesters fight every kind of monster there is including the best/wittiest demon Crowley (played by Mark Sheppard), ghouls, vampires, gods, shape shifters, and the very gross and oozy Leviathans. For many seasons they even tackle the devil himself and angels from heaven. They are usually assisted by their angel friend Castiel (Misha Collins), who has become basically family to the Winchesters. Aside from Castiel, the Winchesters care about one thing, and one thing only--their black 1967 Chevy Impala named 'Baby' by Dean. It is Dean's prized possession and nothing can fire him up like his baby being threatened. Don't hurt her, don't drive her, and don't disrespect her.
Moral of the story, Supernatural is thrilling, sometimes scary, always funny and one of the best shows to still run on the CW. So to all my supernatural fans, carry on my wayward son and look out for the next episode March 29th on the CW.
